Cybex Escape

Lunasoft

Status: Full Game, Findability: 3/5

A game that was due for release sometime in 1986, but has only just been released thanks to the efforts of the author, and English translation by Laxity.

It is a neat game where you control a tiny main character who has to get past a series of obstacles before moving onto the next screen. It’s a little bit clunky, and you can easily get stuck it seems, but it is a neat curiosity none the less, and a full game too!

We don’t know much else about the game at present and what the intentions were. We hope to hear from the author in the future. For now, check it out and enjoy for yourself!

  1. If you wish to get into contact eith the author Alfred Boot, I know him personally and I think he might be open to it.

We met at the dutch Commodore Club where I helped him to “digitize” his disk, containig Cybex Escape” to .d64. Imagine my pleasant surprise when I saw the game he had created.

    • That would be great Robbert! It would be just to try and learn more about the game and what the intentions were for it, so that we can flesh out the story on the website. Thank you for that!

  2. This is a nice hidden gem (by fellow countryman). Genuinely impressed, especially the UFO is a nice touch. Congrats to the author.

  3. Great Game and quite hard. You can indeed get stuck so I use savestates in Vice.
The game has a great puzzle/action factor as you also have a UFO at your disposal which can seperate into two different spaceships which each ahave special ability of their own. Where tonise which one os they key. Try this game, it’s special and you won’t regret it.

  4. If You get stuck somewhere try moving left-right, left-right quickly and your character will unstuck slowly but surely ;)
Extraordinary game, one in a million !
