A very short entry for a Tymac game that never was called First Strike, and which was being developed by Game Gems for the company. Only a brief mention in a news item in Commodore Power Play 1984 – issue 8 is currently known.
Thanks to Fabrizio Bartoloni – adverts for the game were shown in the likes of Run and Computer Gazette, where a screenshot could be found. Hopefully we can get a higher res version in the future.
Fabrizio revealed this detail from the advert:
“In 1984 the first strike doctrine referred to a preemptive surprise nuclear attack employing overwhelming force from USSR to USA or vice versa, so it’s safe to assume the game plot revolved around military tensions during the Cold War.”
Not much else is known at this stage, but its likely the developer/artist was the same as whom worked on Flyer Fox or Gandalf the Sorcerer – so we’ve added temporary credits for now.
If you know anything more about this game, please do get in touch!

Thanks so much Fabrizio – just updated the page :)
