Kinetix

Ash and Dave

Status: Full Game, Findability: 2/5

A short entry for a title that did eventually see release, but was actually intended to be a game with a completely different name.

Dynamix was a new puzzle game from Ash and Dave, published by Virgin Mastertronic back in 1989. Before then, the game was being pitched to publishers under the name of “Kinetix”, where logos were produced depicting the game as so.

At this stage, the music had been composed already by Jeroen Tel, which explains why there is an entry in HVSC for Kinetix (the original name).

When recovering Ashley’s disks in 2015, a build of the game in the form of Kinetix was found – complete with logo and no publication details.

It is pretty much the same as the final game, just with different logos – but an interesting curiosity to check out anyway.
