Grzegorz Antosiewicz has kindly provided a number of titles and scans showcasing assets that never quite made the final build, so here is another post looking at one of those titles. Blastar was a neat multi-directional shooter which got mixed reviews from the press at the time.
Graphic artist Roberto Cirillo revealed that some levels were cut from game because there were no time to finish them. Two cut levels were within an underwater/sub setting. Another feature dropped was with missile targeting, where you had to calculate the delay for your shots to hit incoming missiles.
In press previews, Grzegorz found three unused enemies, on “Clipboard01.jpg” some kind of worm made up from balls, on 02 and 03 some large monsters, likely an early version of the first boss. Check them out below!
Thanks to Grzegorz Antosiewicz for highlighting the game and for the scans.
