Titus the Fox

1994 Titus

Platform: Super Nintendo

A surprise entry into the archives now with the start of a Titus the Fox game that no-one seemingly knew existed until now. Lurking within the Enigma Variations archives was a very quick Titus the Fox build which has the quirky main character running on the spot and which you can move around a test map.

The test map is from Chaos Drop by the looks of it, another cancelled SNES game – which means its likely that the game was being developed by Joe Booth with graphics by Alan Macfarlane. Was the game to be a straight conversion or a completely new game?

Unfortunately there is nothing to do at this stage apart from move the sprite around the screen in a floaty fashion. You can press the start button to enable a split screen view, which indicates that there were plans for a split screen 2-player mode.

Nothing more is known at this stage, and we hope to learn more soon about why the game was cancelled in the end and if there is any remote chance it progressed further. If you know anything more or know of any press mentions of the game for the platform, please let us know.

With thanks to Mark Greenshields for allowing us to preserve.
