Our next title into the archives is a very early platform shooter game for the Game Boy Color, and was developed around 1999. It is unknown currently what the origins are for it, if it was for an official development or part of a development competition (we weren’t able to spot on our initial searches). A short entry now for an unknown and early game engine that was created during the very early days of DC Studios. It has a working title of “Some Metal Head”, which was set in the game’s header and seems to be the start of a sort of Metal Slug/Turrican style game. Continue reading
Our next entry into the archives is a title that was being created by Chris Pigas called Sorcerer. An early and simple platformer, featuring a protagonist looking rather like Miner Willy from Manic Miner, where you can roam freely around a single level and fight with enemies. Continue reading

Kick Off was converted to pretty much every platform of its day, including the NES quite late on in 1991. However, whilst backing up some old 5.25″ floppies from the Enigma Variations archive, we found a big surprise in the shape of a Super Kick Off prototype build for Nintendo’s console, which doesn’t seem to be known about until now (certainly couldn’t find any press mentions).
